Leave behind the hustle and bustle of 21st century living and venture into the wilderness with our first LOYAC expedition. Join us as we head to Three Capes Track in Tasmania, and hike its breathtakingly beautiful 48 km trail. Leap outside your comfort zone, as you face real challenges and discover your leadership style.


This program is designed to guide students on building crucial life and leadership skills they can apply to navigate our rapidly changing world, while offering long-term benefits on overall well-being.


  •    Leadership: Take charge and be responsible for your team by organizing daily activities, meal preps, schedules, and more.
  •    Problem-solving: Learn how to deal with unfamiliar challenges and ad-hoc situations out of your regular environment by working as a team to come up with solutions
  •    Team-building: Build connections and friendships, and share stories with your team as you support each other through an unforgettable experience
  •    Stress management: Commune with nature to decrease anxiety, depression, and boredom, practice a gratitude habit, and develop techniques to stay grounded and calm throughout the trip to also blend into your lifestyle back home
  •    Cooking and Nutrition: Understand different food groups, their health benefits, and how to cook them or include them into your daily meals
  •    Self-confidence: Build self-confidence, resilience, and self-esteem by overcoming physical challenges and mental barriers
  •    Awareness: Learn about sustainability programs through the workshops, and immerse yourself in nature during the trip

The program will be divided into 3 phases:

  •    Pre-expedition Workshops starting May 2020: Workshops on leadership, environment and sustainability, health and well-being along with a training program in preparation for the trip
  •    Expedition to Tasmania in May-June 2020: 2-day stay in Hobart, Tasmania followed by a 4-day hike on the breathtaking Three Capes Track in Tasmania, ending with 2 rest days in Hobart before flying back to Kuwait
  •    Post-expedition Reflections in June 2020: Presentations on the whole experience, and the skills developed during the trip, with reflections on how they can be applied towards the betterment of local communities

This program is ideal for university students between the ages of 18-27, who are passionate about the environment, enjoy physical activity and being outdoors.
