LoYAC Lebanon - AC Milan Camp

Helping the youth is a wide goal that can affect young people’s personality through different initiatives. LoYAC strongly believes in the importance of youth’s physical well being. Therefore, we have decided to organize an AC Milan soccer camp in the first week of August 2010. We believe that a professional soccer player is not only a person who has brilliant techniques but someone who is tolerant, has a teamwork spirit and is educated, that’s why the program had several objectives:
1- Promote youth’s physical well being through professional and international soccer training.
2- Develop the young people’s personality through team building and leadership.
3- Mix youth from different social backgrounds to provide them with opportunities to communicate with each other.

We partnered with IJMA3 organization to implement this project and achieve all the above objectives. LoYAC was in charge of everything related to soccer as for IJMA3 they helped with the teamwork, leadership trainings and computer courses. 80 students participated in the camp from different areas in Lebanon.

The head coach, Alessandro Passquali, came from AC Milan- Italy and was assisted by 6 local coaches: Jack Bouchakjian, Sebouh Balbikian, Hagop, Michel, Rabih Hamdan (hoops) and Muhieddine el Wazzan (hoops). On the natural field of Balamand University, the 80 participants were trained in the morning (10.00 a.m- 12.00 a.m) and in the late afternoon (6.00 p.m-8.00 p.m).

The field was equipped with two large goals, four medium, cones, disks and footballs.
The participants were given AC Milan kits (2 shorts, 2 T-shirts, 2 socks and one bag). We provide the participants with bibs to differentiate the teams from each other.

Between the two soccer sessions, participants were attending trainings about citizenship, leadership and teamwork given by professionals from other organizations along with Tawassol computer classes.

On Saturday, August 7th 2010 (one day before the end of the camp), we organized a ceremony where the participants received their AC Milan certificates.
